Columbia House Mail-Order Music Club to Shut Down After September 15

Columbia House, founded in 1955 as Columbia Record Club, will stop accepting new orders after September 15, 2026, per a notice on its website reported by Pitchfork. The mail-order club peaked at 16 million members in 1996. It filed for Chapter 11 in August 2015, abandoned music sales for DVDs, and has now exhausted that pivot.
