Zynga shut down Diablo veterans' studio before it could announce its Star Wars RPG

Zynga closed Echtra Games in June 2025, four years after acquiring the studio founded by Diablo and Torchlight creators. Echtra shipped zero titles in that span. Its unannounced Star Wars loot-driven action-RPG, codenamed Magellan, never received official confirmation from Zynga. Gameplay footage surfaced on 16 August 2026 after a former developer uploaded portfolio materials, which MP1st obtained.
