Asgari's 'A Bit of Light' enters Venice main competition with Trump-bombing-Iran line in first clip

Iranian director Ali Asgari's sixth feature 'A Bit of Light' has been selected for the Venice Film Festival's Golden Lion main competition — a first in his career. Variety revealed the first clip on 17 August 2026, in which a character says: "This Trump guy is threatening to bomb here every day." The festival runs 2–12 September 2026.
