Jay Weinberg says contract barred him from releasing music after Slipknot exit
Former Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg told the podcast Loyal to the Craft that contractual restrictions left him without the "legal ability" to release collaborative music after his 2023 departure. Weinberg said he continued creating in private but knew the material could not be put out. He joined Slipknot in late 2013; the band called his exit a "creative decision." Rolling Stone reported his comments on 16 August 2026.
