Armed police arrest fraud suspect and lock down European Athletics Championships final night in Birmingham

Armed police arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of fraud and swept through Birmingham's Alexander Stadium on the final night of the European Athletics Championships. Buses were halted for over an hour, six medal ceremonies were postponed, and athletes did not reach hotels until 12.45am. Thousands of spectators were stranded. West Midlands Police said the man remained in custody.
