Former SNL writer-performer John Higgins joins Scrubs revival Season 2 as new Chief Resident

John Higgins, who left NBC's Saturday Night Live in summer 2025 to focus on acting, has landed a major recurring role on season 2 of ABC's Scrubs revival. He plays Grant, the new Chief Resident written to needle Zach Braff's J.D. Dorian the way J.D. once needled Dr. Cox. The 20th Television-produced revival returns to ABC on 30 September, streaming next day on Hulu.
