Kiss tests Wallabies depth in 56-17 Japan rout, resting Valetini and shifting captain Wilson to lock

Australia beat Japan 56-17 in Townsville on 15 August, completing a 2-0 series sweep under new head coach Les Kiss. He rested back-rower Rob Valetini, gave first starts to flanker Charlie Cale and centre Isaac Henry, and moved captain Harry Wilson from No 8 into the second row for the final 15 minutes. Australia led just 21-17 at halftime before scoring five second-half tries without reply.
