The Wicker Man would be the easiest classic British film to greenlight today, festival panel says
A festival panel hosted by Wendy Mitchell assessed classic British films as if freshly pitched in 2026. Christine Vachon of Killer Films said The Wicker Man is "exactly what the A24s, Neons, etc. are looking for right now." Simon Renshaw of Casarotto said it could be made inexpensively. Clare Binns cited its casting hook — a known actor "doing something new." (Variety, 15 August 2026)
