Rock critic and Springsteen biographer Dave Marsh dies at 74

Dave Marsh, the rock critic and author of the 1979 New York Times bestseller 'Born to Run: The Bruce Springsteen Story,' died on 14 August 2025 at 74, Billboard reported. A founding editor of Creem magazine in 1969, Marsh also wrote for Rolling Stone, authored more than two dozen books, and shared a 1993 Grammy for best album notes for Aretha Franklin's 'Queen of Soul.' A cause of death had not been reported.
