
Boxer Prichard Colón dies at 33, eleven years after ring brain injury
Puerto Rican boxer Prichard Colón died on 13 August 2026, aged 33. The WBC and WBO confirmed his death. Colón sustained irreversible neurological damage from illegal "rabbit punches" — banned blows to the back of the head — in an October 2015 fight against Terrel Williams in Fairfax, Virginia. He was unbeaten in 16 bouts. A specific cause of death has not been disclosed.
