Kingdom Hearts 4 gets late 2027 release window in first dated commitment from Square Enix

Square Enix confirmed a late 2027 release window for Kingdom Hearts 4 via a trailer shown at Disney's D23 showcase on August 14, 2026. According to Eurogamer, it is the first concrete date the publisher has attached after years of non-committal updates from director Tetsuya Nomura. The game is planned for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The same showcase revealed a Pixar Coco-themed world and an animated Kingdom Hearts series.
