Disney greenlights first Kingdom Hearts TV series, with an original story

Disney greenlit a Kingdom Hearts anime series for Disney Channel and Disney+, announced at D23 in Anaheim on 14 August 2026. The franchise's first TV adaptation will tell an original story within the existing universe, developed with series creator Tetsuya Nomura and the Square Enix creative team. No cast, episode count or release date has been confirmed.
