Ansah runs 19.95 to end Germany's 44-year European 200m drought
Owen Ansah won the men's 200m at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham in 19.95 seconds, cracking 20 seconds for the first time. Germany had not topped a European 200m podium since 1982 — a 44-year gap. The 25-year-old, a two-time European bronze medallist, beat Britain's Zharnel Hughes into silver.
