Brazilian police recover eight stolen Matisse 'Jazz' works, arrest three

Brazilian police recovered eight Henri Matisse 'Jazz' works, valued at approximately US$193,000, from a São Paulo library on 14 August 2026. Armed men seized the works in 2025. Two men and a woman were arrested. Police named Laéssio Rodrigues de Oliveira Silva as the alleged organiser in May 2026, according to ArtReview. The investigation continues.
