The Museo de Arte de Pereira, in Colombia's coffee-growing region roughly 300 km west of Bogotá, has closed indefinitely after sustaining structural damage in an earthquake, ARTnews reported on 14 August 2026. No reopening date has been set. The extent of damage to the collection — paintings, ceramics and sculptures vulnerable to impact and vibration — remains under assessment. No injuries were reported.
