California Concert Ticket Resale Cap Bill Fails in Committee

California's AB 1720, the Fans First Act, failed to advance from the State Appropriations Committee, ending its legislative path this session. Introduced by assemblymember Matt Haney in February, the bill would have capped resale prices at 10% above face value for venues of 3,000 capacity or fewer. StubHub spent $3.4 million lobbying against it, Rolling Stone reported. Vermont and Maine have enacted similar caps.
