Trippier starts Wolves' Championship opener after dropping down for family
Kieran Trippier started Wolves' 2026-27 Championship opener against Blackburn on 14 August, having dropped from the Premier League to the second tier. The former Atlético Madrid and Newcastle full-back, a Champions League regular, said he wanted to be close to his children and was "not ashamed to play in the second tier." Wolves were relegated last season.
