Sculptor Michael E. Smith breaks decade-long interview silence in ARTnews / Art in America

Sculptor Michael E. Smith, born in Detroit in 1977 and represented by Modern Art in London and Andrew Kreps Gallery in New York, gave an extensive interview to ARTnews / Art in America on 14 August 2026, ending a ten-year avoidance of interviews. The conversation coincides with his largest institutional show to date, 'The makings of you,' at Mass MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts, on view through 21 February 2027.
