Wakefield release Nikotemo 18 months early on compassionate grounds

Wakefield Trinity have released 22-year-old Australian back-rower Seth Nikotemo with immediate effect on compassionate grounds, the Super League club confirmed on 14 August. His contract ran to end of 2027. Head coach Daryl Powell told BBC Radio Leeds Nikotemo had "an issue back at home that he needed to look after." Nikotemo, who made 29 appearances, has returned to Australia.
