Mohammed Sheikh's "Accept My Plea for Burial" won a CHF 20,000 ($24,000) Open Doors Grant at the 2026 Locarno Film Festival's co-production platform, per The Hollywood Reporter. The Djibouti–Somalia–Qatar co-production, produced by Kadir Harbi Hassan of Aleel Films, follows a mother refusing to bury her son without justice after a fatal fall in a Somali pastoral village.
