Three Britons through to European 1500m final in Birmingham

Jake Wightman, Jake Heyward and Arlo Ludewick all qualified for the 1500m final at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham on Saturday night. Three Britons in a twelve-man final (three and three-quarter laps) let the home team shape tactics rather than chase them. Wightman, named captain of the 94-strong GB and NI squad, carries the added weight of leadership.
