2K opens Vancouver sports studio Small Axe, led by former EA FIFA producer McHardy

2K has opened Small Axe Studio, a triple-A studio in Vancouver formed from its Sports Lab project established in 2023. The studio is led by Aaron McHardy, EA Sports' FIFA executive producer for over 15 years until 2021. Multiple 20-year EA Sports veterans fill senior roles. 2K says the studio is building its "next blockbuster sports franchise." No sport, platform, or release window is confirmed.
