Shelton defends Canadian Open, joins Nadal-Murray-Djokovic club

Ben Shelton beat fellow American Brandon Nakashima 6-3, 7-6(4) in Montreal on 13 August 2026 to retain the National Bank Open. The fifth seed became only the fourth man this century after Nadal, Murray and Djokovic to win the title back-to-back. It was his fourth trophy of 2026 and second Masters 1000 crown, earned in 87 minutes with 22 winners against 12 unforced errors.
