Disney+ passes on live-action Power Rangers; Netflix already passed — Hasbro left without a streaming partner
Disney+ will not proceed with its live-action Power Rangers series, Deadline reported on 14 August 2026. The project spent roughly eighteen months in development, written by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, with 20th Television as studio. The decision was business and budget-related, not creative. Netflix also passed on an adaptation years earlier, leaving Hasbro, which owns the brand, without a streaming partner.
