Green Day Comedy 'Nimrods' Opens in US Theatres August 14

Green Day's comedy film *Nimrods* opens in US theatres on August 14. The film follows three teenagers, played by Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman and Ryan Foust, pranked into believing their band will open Green Day's New Year's Eve show at the Hollywood Palladium. Armstrong, Cool and Dirnt appear as themselves in small roles. Director Lee Kirk folded in the band's real-life stories as easter eggs. Armstrong told The Hollywood Reporter he wanted the band in the background, the music driving the narrative.
