AI tool now cross-references Nazi-looted art archives across borders

The Jewish Digital Cultural Recovery Project Foundation, under the Claims Conference, has added AI to its Legacy Explorer platform to search and cross-reference archival records on Nazi-looted art across multiple countries, ARTnews reported on 13 August 2026. The tool draws on Germany's Lost Art and Proveana databases and the Getty Provenance Index in Los Angeles, surfacing document links that manual provenance research might take months to find.
