Sauerbruch Hutton and Studio Gang win German House redesign in Manhattan
A jury selected Berlin-based Sauerbruch Hutton and Chicago's Studio Gang to redesign German House, a 325-foot skyscraper north of the United Nations complex in Manhattan. The building houses Germany's consulate and UN mission. Sauerbruch Hutton serves as lead designer; Studio Gang as architect of record. The project is Sauerbruch Hutton's first US commission. Plans include a coloured, photovoltaic facade.
