Hidden cameras and vintage toys build live micro-cinema at Summerhall Fringe

Thaddeus Phillips performs "Around the World in 80 Toys" at Summerhall, Edinburgh Fringe, 6–31 August 2026. Hidden cameras turn vintage mechanical toys into live big-screen images, splicing Jules Verne's adventure with the life of Georges Méliès, the cinema pioneer who ended up running a Paris toy shop. Co-created with director Tatiana Mallarino. The Stage called it charming; WhatsOnStage flagged autofocus blur and narrative drag after India.
