Netflix adds 35 Cantinflas films on 1 September under time-limited licence

Netflix will add 35 classic Cantinflas films — including Pepe, El padrecito and Romeo y Julieta — on 1 September, Deadline reports. The time-limited licensing deal runs through end-March 2027, meaning the films leave the platform then unless renewed. The acquisition marks Mexican Cinema Day on 15 August. VP Carolina Leconte cited "authentic perspective on Mexican life."
