Kobalt joins Universal and Merlin in licensing Spotify's AI remix tool; Sony and Warner not yet signed

Kobalt signed a licensing deal with Spotify on August 13 for an upcoming AI tool letting premium subscribers create covers and remixes, with participating songwriters sharing revenue. Universal Music Group and Merlin signed earlier. Sony Music and Warner Music Group, named in Spotify's October partnership announcement, have not announced individual deals. No launch date is set.
