A single orca's life is driving four competing projects. Netflix has greenlit an untitled feature documentary from Mexico's Mezcla and The Lift Films, directed by Santiago Fábregas (Deadline, 13 August 2026). HBO has a docuseries from the team behind Netflix's The Greatest Night in Pop (Deadline, 15 October 2025). HBO Max and Sky UK have an unnamed film from Raw Television. Warner Bros. is developing a Free Willy reimagining with AGBO attached (Deadline, 13 August 2026).
