Colell Aparicio's 'Far From the Trees' premieres in Locarno competition

Meritxell Colell Aparicio's second feature 'Far From the Trees' ('Lejos de los árboles') premiered in Locarno's international competition on 13 August. The 120-minute film follows a Vienna-based sound artist, played by composer Angélica Castelló, recording vanishing nature and indigenous languages in the Peruvian Amazon. Co-produced by Spain, Peru and Italy, it was developed at San Sebastian's Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum (Variety; Cineuropa; San Sebastian Festival).
