Irvine Welsh told The Guardian he originally gathered material for an HBO pilot before the project became "Can Nothing Save Us?", a 496-page novel published by Vintage on 13 August 2026. On Instagram, Welsh called it "Maybe my best book, out now." The Las Vegas family saga is his 16th novel.
