DGA and IATSE urge Bonta and Ellison to settle $110 billion Paramount–WBD merger lawsuit

The DGA and IATSE wrote to California AG Rob Bonta and Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison on 13 August 2026, urging settlement of the antitrust suit blocking the $110 billion Paramount–Warner Bros. Discovery merger. The unions argue prolonged uncertainty harms workers. Bonta, who led 12 states in filing suit, seeks structural remedies; Paramount has refused. Trial is set for 2 March.
