12 State AGs Stall Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery Merger in Federal Court

Twelve state attorneys general have stalled Paramount Skydance's proposed $111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery in federal court on antitrust grounds, Variety reported on 12 August 2026. The DOJ closed its antitrust probe in June 2026 finding no competitive harm. Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders approved the deal on 23 April 2026. The transaction was expected to close in Q3 2026. That timeline is now in question.
