Favreau Bans All Digital Manipulation in First Documentary 'Lion'

Jon Favreau, who built a photoreal CG lion on a soundstage for Disney's 2019 'The Lion King,' prohibited all digital augmentation, painting-out and footage manipulation on 'Lion,' his first documentary. The four-part National Geographic series, filmed over four years in Kenya's Maasai Mara, premieres 19 August on National Geographic and Disney+.
