Sharjah launches MENA's first contemporary craft museum

Sharjah, the third-largest emirate in the UAE, has launched the Irthi Museum — described as the Middle East and North Africa region's first museum dedicated to contemporary crafts. Gulf News reported the launch on 8 August 2026; ARTnews confirmed the designation on 12 August. No opening date, admission charges or exhibition schedules have been announced.
