Hull sign Mendy for record £20m+ — a 21-year-old with two Conference League finals behind him

Hull City have signed 21-year-old Senegalese centre-back Nobel Mendy from Rayo Vallecano for a club-record fee exceeding £20m. Mendy reached the Conference League final in each of the last two seasons — with Real Betis in 2024, then Rayo in 2025 — losing to Chelsea and Crystal Palace respectively. He has signed a five-year deal with an option for a further year.
