Ritchie Blackmore Plans Deep Purple Reunion Encore at 12 August Jones Beach Show

Ritchie Blackmore announced via Instagram on 11 August that he plans to join Deep Purple for a one-song encore at their 12 August show at Northwell at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York. It would be his first live appearance with the band since departing in November 1993. Blackmore said frontman Ian Gillan and the band approved the idea. The two camps have not shared a stage in over 30 years.
