OverDrive acquires divibib, bringing Onleihe library lending under Libby

OverDrive, the US digital library platform behind the Libby reading app, has acquired divibib GmbH — operator of Onleihe, a digital lending service for public libraries across German-speaking Europe since 2007. The deal was struck with divibib's parent, ekz.bibliotheksservice GmbH. No financial terms were disclosed. Onleihe users will be migrated to Libby over time; service continues uninterrupted during the transition.
