World Rugby approves smaller ball for WXV Global Series

World Rugby will use a size 4.5 ball — roughly 3% smaller than the regulation size 5 but the same weight — across the WXV Global Series in September and October. The ball was trialled with female players on the Sevens circuit in November before approval.
