Three from the British Isles reach 800m final at European Athletics Championships

Max Burgin and Ben Pattison, both British, won their 800m semi-finals at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. Ireland's Mark English joined them after breaking the championship record — the fastest 800m ever run at the competition. Pattison, second-fastest Briton in history at 1:42.27, owns 2023 world bronze. The final pairs two home finalists against the fastest man in championship history.
