Nicholas Hoult cast as Gilderoy Lockhart in HBO Harry Potter Season 2

Nicholas Hoult will play Gilderoy Lockhart in Season 2 of HBO's Harry Potter series, adapting The Chamber of Secrets, per Variety and Deadline on 11 August 2026. Kenneth Branagh played the role in the 2002 film. Season 1 debuts 25 December on HBO and HBO Max. Season 2 filming is due to begin this autumn.
