No Man's Sky Stays Free-to-Update After 40 Patches; Hello Games' Murray Rejects Paid DLC

Hello Games has shipped 40-plus major free updates to No Man's Sky since its 2016 launch. Studio head Sean Murray told GamesRadar the studio avoids paid DLC and microtransactions so all players share the same content, preventing audience fragmentation and letting features build across updates. Murray said commercial efficiency "is not what matters" to the studio.
