HBO Max passes on all Hacks spinoffs; characters' stories end with Season 5 finale

HBO Max will not pursue any Hacks spinoffs, including a planned Jimmy and Kayla offshoot, Deadline reports. The characters' stories end with the fifth-season finale. Creators Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky move on to new projects. The decision closes the franchise despite a record 24 Emmy nominations for the final season.
