CBS mounts Emmy campaign for cancelled Late Show — after writers forced its hand

CBS cancelled The Late Show with Stephen Colbert; the final episode aired 21 May 2026. The show landed nine Emmy nominations. Colbert has never won as host. The Late Show's writers posted their own FYC ad on social media claiming CBS would not campaign. Gold Derby later reported CBS did run promos and billboards. Jimmy Kimmel put up a billboard: "I'm voting for Stephen."
