
Colombia Hit by Second Major Earthquake on Same Day as 7.4-Magnitude Quake
A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Colombia on August 10, 2026, the same day a 7.4-magnitude quake — the strongest recorded in the country this century — killed at least 224 people. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre measured the second quake at a depth of 115 km. Aftershocks continue as rescue crews search collapsed buildings.
