CCP appoints Carlos Quijon Jr. chief curator ahead of Manila Bay building reopening
The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) appointed Carlos Quijon Jr. as chief curator on August 4, 2026, per its press release. He will lead the exhibition programme and oversee the 21AM Visual Arts Collection — one of the Philippines' largest contemporary art holdings, spanning the 1960s–1980s, Artforum reported. The CCP's brutalist Main Building on Manila Bay, designed by Leandro Locsin, remains closed for renovation. No reopening date has been announced.
