ARTS Southeast revives Ossabaw Island artist residency for October 2026 launch
ARTS Southeast, a Savannah-based arts organisation, is reviving the Ossabaw Island Residency on Georgia's third-largest barrier island — reachable only by boat — with two artist cohorts scheduled to begin in October 2026, ARTnews reported. The programme continues a lineage begun in the 1960s by the Ossabaw Island Project, which hosted Margaret Mead and Aaron Copland. Participating artists have not yet been named.
