Mexico Deploys Nearly 100,000 for 2026 World Cup Security

Mexico's Defense Ministry is mobilizing about 99,000 military personnel and civilian security staff for the 2026 FIFA World Cup—one of the country's largest peacetime deployments. The operation, called Plan Kukulcán, will station troops across three host cities and place a general in unified command of stadiums, airports, and routes used by FIFA delegations.
